FSR500 & Geforce Now

HI,

I’ve been running the FSR500 on the Geforce Now platform in FS24 . Simbrief integration, charts & location on the moving map all work fine but the option to broadcast my position isn’t present.

I’m assuming it’s just a restriction of the cloud platform - can you confirm please.

Thanks & regards, Neil.

Hi Neil,

Sorry we overlooked your post. Do you have Moving Map working?

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian,

I didn’t. I wonder if it’s an issue with the FSR500 not being a native FS24 plane?

Regards, Neil.

Hi Neil,

It has been explained to me that you don’t have Moving Map because GeForce Now is a cloud service that provides access to Windows PCs with good GPUs.

While our plugins do have an “Enable Simlink” feature, it is only available on XBox and not on PC. Geforce Now is a PC, so the avionics will not have this option.

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian,

Thanks. According to Raul, the feature is packaged for both the Xbox and pc versions of his plane and works fine on both.

Confused…

He is wrong  We built the feature, so you can trust us.

The feature is only enabled if the simulator itself reports that it is running on XBox. In all other cases, it is permanently disabled. This is done in order to avoid conflicts with our Simlink application, which should be used when running the simulator on PC.

I assume you do not have the freedom to install Simlink inside Geforce Now? If that is true, then we do not have any options for you at the moment. Our only way of supporting your use-case would be through the Marketplace, and Navigraph is currently not allowed to publish to it.

Another option would be if we could detect the GeForce Now environment through the simulator (so we could enable the moving maps feature in this environment as well), but that would require Asobo to add first-party support for such detection and I am quite sure that is not on their shortlist, unfortunately!

‘You’ are both great dev’s so it’s hard to not to trust both of ‘you’…

Could it be enabled in the PC version? On the GeForce Now platform. I have access to all the Navigraph charts - just missing a few features…

Thanks, Neil.

No - the reason for this is outlined in my previous post. It would cause conflicts for anyone running on “real” PCs, and right now, the number of such users vastly outnumber those who use GeForce Now.

If all goes to plan, we may have an alternative for you in the near future! Unfortunately, we can’t promise anything since it ultimately comes down to a decision on the Microsoft/Asobo end.

To my knowledge, there is currently no way to differentiate between a normal desktop PC and GeForce Now. If you believe that there is a way, feel free to let us know! But as of this moment, we unfortunately do not have any alternatives for you.

Oh well, at least I understand the issue and it want just me failing to configure things properly.

Cheers,Neil.
