I’m having issues with cargo for simbrief w/ FS2020.
Basically, when I select None, I always still land up with figures for cargo.
If I select Auto, I usually always get the same figure - so if I fly the MD-11, I will always get something like 7,500lbs of cargo. Or if I fly the RJ100, I always get something like 4,000lbs of cargo.
If I input a figure, simbrief ignores it and puts in its own figure.
To add to Tim’s answer, you can specify a default baggage weight of “0” if you create a custom airframe, which will give you full control of the cargo weight through the “Freight” option.
Thanks for the replies. So here is an OFP from a flight I did a few days ago. When I was building the flight, in the “Freight” option, I input 400lbs. When I generated the flight, it released it with 4,600lbs of “Cargo”.
I’ve tested this a few times. Even if I put “none”, it will still add cargo. As I understand it, simbrief considers “freight” and cargo separately.
We already answered this; the 4200 lbs of additional cargo is luggage for the 96 passengers onboard.
Given the airframe used, G-JUST (JustFlight Avro RJ100), the total payload is as follows:
96 passengers at 170 lbs each
96 passengers’ luggage at 50 lbs each
400 lbs of freight
…for a total of 21,520 lbs of payload (including 5,200 lbs of cargo). However, the payload was adjusted down to 20,945 lbs so as to not exceed the maximum landing weight (Simbrief removes payload from cargo first before it starts “unboarding” passengers).
One thing that is unexpected, I think, is that there is no dispatch remark indicating the payload was reduced due to MLW ( @SimBrief ).
