Website says that I can try these charts for free, and has the picture of the ingame panel in it. Which I assume means that I can try that for free, but it won’t let me download the addon from navdata center without an subscription.
Anyone resolved this somehow?

The demo facility applies to all Charts offerings except the In-Game Panel which requires a subscription.
You will get a pretty good idea from the demos available.
We shall shortly be beta testing a new Charts offering with exciting new features.
