from today I can no longer import flight plans produced with simbrief into the fenix fmc. once requested with flt init I get the response fpl not valid

Are you running the Fenix in MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024 ?
Try re Generate Flight in SimBrief. Make sure you are have the same SimBrief username for both Generating the flight and registered in SimBrief.
If still an issue please upload flight plan using
