Hello,
I just updated to the latest version after being prompted.
Now FMS Data Manager will not open.
A similar thing happened 4 or 5 months ago.
With the help of Richard Stefan, the problem was fixed & a new version was released.
3 x Windows 10 Home 20H2 19042.906 64 bit not working.
2 x Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.906 64 bit working fine.

Hi Duncan,
thanks for the report and also thank you for the hint between the two editions (Home/Pro). I will test this today because it´s really possible, that the new Qt-libraries needs anything else, what is possible missing in the Home-edition.
Will let you know here …
Cheers,
Richard
I posted a new topic about the new version of data manager crashing on exit (every time). FYI I am also running Windows 10 Home edition.
Hi Lawrence,
thanks for the information - one additional question:
Have you the 32bit or 64 bit Home-Edition of Win10 installed? … same question to you Duncan (@pikitanga) please
Thank you,
Richard
I have the 64 bit version.

The data manager 1.8.6.0315 not support Windows 7…
there’s an alternative?
The data manager is Win7 compatible, but it looks like the installer blocks it … we will fix this.
Yes, directly via our webpage - here you have every supported addon as own installer. That is a “workaround” for addons, which can´t be found, or when someone can´t install the FMS Data Manager for some reasons.
Cheers,
Richard
thank you very much for your reply!

Hi,
I have worked out what the problem is.
The latest version of FMS Data Manager works fine on my computer.
However after putting FDM into full screen mode & closing it, it won’t start after that.
All three computers I have the problem with have 3 or 4 monitors.
My windows pro pc has two monitors & works fine.
So long as you never click on the square in the top right corner of the window you can start & stop FDM as many times as you like.

Duncan

Thanks Duncan for the public feedback. As I told you yesterday, we are working on a solution for the multi monitor issue and I will come back to you for testing.
By the way:
Thanks for your time and your patience in this case. Thanks also for your support to figure out the problem. I guess, we had made a great step forward in the last days. Now it’s on our side, to solve it. Time to say thank you!
Cheers
Richard
Hi Richard,
I have received no communications from you regarding the “multi monitor issue” other than the above.
That is why I posted here, as I was not sure you had received my emails suggesting maximizing the window with 3+ monitors might be the cause of the original issue.
I have checked my spam folder in case the message you refer to went there.
Anyway I look forward to testing the fix.

Duncan
Hi Duncan,
I have written you two additional mail but I have now figured out, that I have send both from the wrong account and both were not delivered due this fact. Sorry for the misunderstanding …
I have built a new version - please can you download it from the webpage manually. We have only uploaded this new version for the moment but we haven´t pushed it for all. This version should fix (at least) the multiple monitor support, but I have only two here, so I can´t really test this with more than 2
Dowload the latest version (v1.8.9.0409) from here and install it over your current version please.
Thank you,
Richard
Hi Richard,
The bad news is it does not work.
The good news is I know why & you can test the case with two monitors.
Two of my monitors are 50" & they run with a Scale & Layout in Display Settings, of 150% (Recommended).
When I change this to 100% all works fine.
So I changed my Windows 10 Pro with two monitors to 150% & sure enough FDM doesn’t open.
Change it back to 100% & FDM opens.
Regards,
Duncan
