Normally, something block the FMS Data Manger/Server. Try to disavle AntiVirus software, or exlude the process/folder. Also check if your firewall blocks something and/or the inbuild windows defender.
Another test:
When able, open a mobile connection with a hotspot. Connect to this hotspot and try it again. When this works, you know that something is blocking from your ISP.

Actually, I’ve noticed that when I’m on the one-time-password page, it shows the alias as “SoaringCabin238,” which isn’t my alias at all, and the subscription isn’t active; the email address ends in @gmail.com while mine is @hotmail.com. It seems I’m not on my account page (which is active); so it’s no wonder the one-time-password doesn’t work. What should I do? Besides, why do I need a one-time-password when I already have a regular password on my account?
What can I do now in light of this new information?

Clear your browser’s cookies and remove your second account (SoaringCabin238) to avoid such issues in the future. After that, you should be safe to get a valid OTP.

How remove this second account (SoaringCabin238); I cannot log in with this username since I obviously don’t have an email address for “soaringcabin238”?

No, still nothing. I finally figured out how to delete an account (actually, I had two in addition to my regular active account). I’ve cleared my browser cookies. Furthermore, I uninstalled and reinstalled FMS Data Manager; when I open it, I still see “SoaringCabin238” and, of course, an error message when I try to add Little Navmap.

In FMS Data Manager Settings tab, Unregister account, then log in with your subscribed account details.
