I’ve generated a flight plan using Simbrief from Queenstown(NZQN) to Christchurch(NZCN) , however the flight plan is not recognised in the MSFS ATR 72. Even if I try to manually generate a flight plan using the ATR’s FMC Queenstown(NZQN) and Christchurch(NZCN) are not recognised. I’ve been flying in Australia using the ATR 72 and loading flight plans with no problem.
Hi again,
please try to enter departure/arrival directly in the WorldMap, because the ATR uses the MSFS navigational data and when you can select the airports in the WorldMap you have isolated it to the ATR.
I presume you mean once I go and launch MSFS, have the ATR sitting at Queenstown, then going to the taskbar at the top and clicking on Navigraph? I did that and it detected a direct route from NZQN to NZCN. I then filled in the departure runway and arrival runway and relevant approaches as per my original flight plan. My question is how do I save this onto the FMC of the ATR and get the aircraft to recognise the flight plan?
Further to this I looked up a Youtube video on how to create a flight plan in Navigraph Charts and export this to MSFS 2020. The video showed a Airbus 320 in MSFS once the flight simulator had loaded. The flight plan was then loaded from MSFS and it automatically loaded into the Airbus FMC.
I tried this and everything went as per the video except the flight plan did not load onto the ATR FMC. I’ve uploaded the flight plan I generated from Navigraph Charts;
The third shot shows the error message “Route Not Found” when I hit the Ident key;
Obviously there is a problem of the FMC recognising the flight plan. Even if I start from scratch and put in the “From/To” airports ie. NZQN/NZCN the same message of “Route Not Found” shows up.
Hi Rod,
as you see NZQN/NZCH is possible on my system, when I load it manually in the FMC, but I have also tried your uploaded flightplan and also here, no issue:
I assume, your flightplan is not on the correct location (I guess, it depends on your MSFS version). So, please look if your flightplan is in the correct folder but as you see, it should work - so I can´t figure out any navdata issue. Sorry.
Sorry for the late reply. In regards to the flight plan being in the right folder, I have been able to access the flight plans flying within Australia i.e. YSSY to YCFS(refer to screen shot above) which is the same folder for NZQN/NZCN). When ever I put into the FMC anything to do with New Zealand it says “Nav Data not found”. I just had the same problem trying to load a flight plan from Sydney(YSSY) to Christchurch(NZCN) for the PMDG 737 - 800. I had updated the PMDG 737 - 800 package on the Navigraph Hub. When I put into the FMC the origin airport(YSSY) it went in OK. However when I tried to enter the destination airport(NZCN), it wouldn’t take it and a message “Nav Data not found” came up. Same thing happened with the ATR 72.
To me it appears that several FMC’s don’t have data for several airports at least in New Zealand. However I can do flight plans within New Zealand using Simbrief and also the World Map.
Hi Rod,
ufff … two different addons with two different databases and the same error. It looks you have any other problem then navigational problem. One question, have you installed all WorldUpdates from the Content-Manager?
I´m not sure if this is an issue but a try … the strange thing is the “Navdata not found” message. Can you post a screenshot of this message please? Because on your screenshots I only see “Route not found” and that happens when the FMC doesn´t find the route-file in the corresponding folder.
Just a quick note to let you know that the problem with the ATR 72 was caused by me putting in NZCN instead of NZCH. Everything is now working perfectly.
