Hi!
Is there a way to file an IFR flight-plan created through the EFB in MSFS 2024 or through the Simbrief app? So that ATC gives me the ability to seek clearances (IFR, pushback, taxi, etc.).
If possible, how can I do this?
PS. The only other options I know are: (1) create the flight-plan through the EFB functionality or (2) through Downloader (worked in MSFS 2020, but does it work in MSFS 2024?)
The SimBrief Downloader should work the same in MSFS 2024.
Another way that should work I think is to click “Import Route” from the SimBrief EFB app. Then open the default flight planner EFB app and click “File plan with ATC”:
I just tried option 1. Unsuccessfully.
After importing the route from the EFB, I switched to Flight Planner on EFB (the only location from where the f-pln can be submitted from). All fields were empty and I had to recreate the f-pln manually within Flight Planner.
My next attempt will be with Simbrief’s Downloader. Crossing my fingers.
I have now tried Simbrief Downloader, loading f-pln into the LocalStae folder of MSFS 2024.
Same issue: the f-pln did not populate the EFB/Flight Planner (from where a f-pln needs to be submitted to ATC). So I had to create the f-pln manually.
Therefore reverting to my initial question: is there no way to file the Simbrief generated f-pln without having to recreate it in the EFB/Flight Planner?
In the default EFB flight planner app, at the bottom there should be a “Load/Save” button to load a .pln file. In case it’s easier for you to skip the SimBrief EFB app and simply import the .pln file directly.
Note that you must still click “File flight plan with ATC” afterwards I believe. I don’t believe there is a quicker way to send the flight plan to the built-in ATC.
If the .pln file doesn’t import correctly, that might be a bug in the simulator. As far as I know our .pln files are being exported in the correct format and they should import correctly.
