Felis 747 Freighter profile (CF6 engines) loads passengers

Hello, I’m making this post because I noticed something weird about the B742 CF6 profile for the Felis 747. Despite the CF6s only being officially modelled on the freighter version, the profile for these still has the 388 max passengers. It’s easy enough to match the weights, and I trust the profile itself is accurate as far as fuel burn etc. goes, but it’s a bit dismaying to see the handcrafted provided profile still being that of a passenger aircraft. Thank you for making them available though, it’s a great help to not have to go hunting!

Hi, these profiles were developed in cooperation with a member of the Felis team. They never mentioned the cargo variant or passenger count issue.

I can add a separate cargo variant, but please first let me know how many passengers the cargo variant should have. Typically a cargo aircraft will still support some passengers, even if it is only a few.

Best regards,

I’m talking about the Felis GE variant, that is meant to be the freighter. There is no official CF6 pax or JT9D freighter version yet, so the engine should correspond to the aircraft variant. It still has a pax limit of 388 and plans with no cargo by default. Here’s what I’m able to give you just from the aircraft itself:

The aircraft allows up to 6 people on board (shows as 6 passengers and adds 1 extra crew member for a total of 4 crew). Loading 6 passengers changes the weight by 600kg, so 100 per person which matches the current profile fairly closely (175+55bag, 230lb = 104kg), so no change required here.

All that would be needed to bring the profile in accordance with the aircraft is changing the default freight mode to Auto and limiting the passengers to 6, same as the EFB does. 220 697 kg/486 553 lbs is the theoretical max cargo it will load with no fuel, but the limiting factor for that is the max ZFW anyway so it’s not necessary to put that in.

Thanks for your help! Looking into it, it really is a small change and the profile is already very accurate with its other values, so great work with that!

Screenshot of the payload page with 297kg fuel (as low as I can physically get it) and people/cargo at max, it well exceeds the MZFW so it’s not a factor. But it will load more cargo as fuel dwindles down, interestingly enough.
