Faulty MagVariation correction in measurement tool

While experimenting with the new measurement tool, I came across a interesting issue.

The Bearing that appears seems to compensate for exactly double the local Magnetic Variation to convert to true. Here’s how I tested it:

  1. Zoomed to my local area, put the tool along TAU VOR (“Taunus”) 0° Radial line, shows 7° where the MagVar is only 3.5°.
  2. Try the same with BBI VOR (“Berlin Brandenburg”), MagVar is 5.5°, tool shows 11°.

Some screenshots:

Applies to iOS and Windows 10, so far I could test.

Thank you very much for reporting this. I have forwarded this to development.

Hi,

We have found the issue in the calculations of the bearing and have fixed it. This fix will be part of the next patch of Charts.

Best regards,
Albin
