EPERM issue

Good day, I have been battling this for a week now. Reinstalled several times. Read countless ideas on how to fix. I have the file console.log as you had mentioned, and this no matter what I do reappears, even after restart of the computer. Wiping out the OS isn’t appealing. Any idea what is causing this, and how to fix it?

I look forward to your response.

This indicates a permissions issue accessing the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SimBrief Downloader folder and/or containing files. This shouldn’t ever happen unless something got very messed up with your Windows install.

If you are familiar with folder permissions in Windows, you can of course check that the folder and parent folder(s) referenced above have the correct permissions for your user account.

Otherwise, you can try uninstalling the SimBrief Downloader, deleting the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SimBrief Downloader folder, then re-installing the downloader, which should result in that folder being recreated (hopefully with the correct permissions this time). Note that this will result in all of your SimBrief Downloader settings and saved download directories being reset.

If that doesn’t work, some Google searches (for example here) recommend trying to repair your Windows install as a first step, rather than fully re-installing the OS.

Another possible solution instead of re-installing the OS would be to create and use a new local user account on the current Windows install.

Best regards,

Thank you. uninstalling and then deleting the Simbrief Downloader has solved the issue. I can only think that deleting MSFS2020 caused this issue. Thank you for the quick response

Great! Happy to hear it’s sorted!

Best regards,
