Subject: ELEVATEX Flight Tracker & Navigraph Subscription - Route Display Issue / Feature Request
Hi everyone,
I’m posting today to discuss an issue I’ve encountered while using ELEVATEX, a great flight tracker that integrates with Navigraph’s AMDB data for detailed airport maps. While I love the functionality ELEVATEX offers, I’ve run into a specific problem regarding flight route display, and I’m hoping to get some community feedback or insights, and perhaps even flag this as a potential feature request for Navigraph.
The Core of My Issue:
ELEVATEX, understandably, requires a valid Navigraph subscription to fully utilize its features, especially for displaying detailed AMDB data like taxiways and current airport layouts. My problem arises when my current Navigraph subscription isn’t active.
Even if I have a previously purchased and unlocked Navigraph AIRAC cycle (for example, a cycle that’s 2-3 months old), ELEVATEX seems to revert to a much older, generic default AIRAC (like 2201) for route drawing. This means that instead of displaying the flight route based on the cycle I have paid for, no route is drawn at all within the app.
What I’m Looking For / My Question to Navigraph:
My primary need, in this scenario, is simply for the flight route to be displayed. I don’t necessarily require the very latest AMDB data, current taxiway information, or the most up-to-date detailed airport layouts for this specific function.
Therefore, my question (and potential feature request) is:
Is it possible for ELEVATEX (or for Navigraph’s data handling within third-party applications like ELEVATEX) to utilize a previously purchased and unlocked AIRAC cycle for drawing the flight route, even if the user’s current subscription isn’t active?
For many simmers, including myself, affording a monthly Navigraph subscription can be challenging. Being able to continue using the fundamental route display feature based on a cycle I’ve already purchased would significantly enhance the usability of ELEVATEX for me, without requiring a constant active subscription for this particular function.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have insights into how Navigraph’s data access works for previously purchased cycles in third-party applications?
Thanks for reading and for any thoughts or information you can provide!
