I cannot find ILS Category A or B charts for Cardiff (EGFF) even though I have changed the Navigraph Charts Setting to “Standard”. Is this missing from the database or am I doing something wrong?
Hi,
What chart mode has you set? STD or CAO? Set it to standard, please …
Cheers
Richard
As you can see from my post, I have done that and it makes no difference even after a restart.
Sorry, my fault - overread it … which chart do you miss? I have compared it with NATS, and I can´t see any missing charts. We have three CAT A and B for runway 30 as in the AIP. So the question is, what do you miss here?
Cheers,
Richard
Interesting. I have the latest Navigraph AIRAC cycle (2603 rev.1) and when I select an ILS approach for Cardiff (EGFF) (any runway) I have all the options for the different approaches but only for categories C&D.
See the attached screenshots from Navigraph for runway 12; note that there’s not an option to view Category A or B for the ILS approach. It’s the same for the other approaches, i.e. RNP, NDB and SRA.
… but the NDB ILS DME OR NDB LOC DME RWY 12 is a CAT A, B, C, D approach, also the NDB DME RWY 12 and …
Here from the NDB ILS DME RWY 12:
Possible, I misunderstood your report ![]()

I don’t understand 2 things:
- I don’t see the Cat A & B markings that you show below
- See the original full-size screenshot I sent to you of the same approach chart. Not only are there no CAT A&B markings (as you highlight below) but also, at the bottom of the chart, you can see in my screenshot that only categories C and D are shown underneath DA(H).
How is it that you can see something different on your chart? I took the screenshot from the Windows Navigraph Charts app, checking that it’s up-to-date using the Navigraph Hub, etc.
When I open the screenshot, I only see approach-selection table but no chart.
Anyway, check the chart mode again please. I´m pretty sure, that you have set it to CAO
Here the same chart in the CAO mode (only CAT C/D):
Cheers,
Richard
I appreciate your patience with this and that you’re trying to help, but I definitely have the Settings on Standard. See the attached screenshot of the settings plus EGFF ILS chart. No Cat A or B!

Hm, strange - I see, but the chart is a CAO chart, you see this on the A=
The indicator, to identify which chart mode you have: (the red circle):
I guess you use the Desktop Chart version, right? Please try to uninstall it and install it again … or for a last try:
- Switch to CAO mode
- Close the chart app
- Open it
- switch back to STD mode
- Close the chart app
- open it again → and try EGFF
When this doesn´t work, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the whole app.
Cheers,
Richard
OK thanks, I will try tomorrow and let you know.
Hi ![]()
The Standard/CAO mode is per-flight ![]()
The global setting only affects:
- what chart mode new flights start with
- what charts are shown when no flight is loaded/active
Once a flight is created, the mode set for the flight will remain active unless changed under Flights > Options.
Regards,
Tim
Ah, OK. Thanks for this explanation. I can’t check until tomorrow pm but will update my post with my findings.
Thanks Rodeo314, your explanation was correct and I can now access the correct chart.
Richard, your proposed solution would also have worked and thanks also go to you.
