Thanks for your response, my apologies for the misinformation. It’s the Navigraph SimLink not the Desktop Manager that’s launched (my bad). Is the link really needed during the flight? One time I forgot to run it when I launched FSX and I was still actually able to launch the charts via the PMDG EFB since I guess the Token (login) already existed from PMDG when I saved my login credentials before. Please confirm since I don’t what to have a service running in FSX if I can help it. The less the better 
But on the other hand I don’t want to get a crash in the middle of a flight because I didn’t run it.
