Hi, Today when trying to import a route using the simbrief dispatch app in MSFS 2024, I get a crash to desktop. It is only when I try to Import the route. I can get into the app in the EFB and view the flight plan, but when I press Import Route it thins for a while then crashes to desktop.
I did a workaround by not importing and loading the FMS from file. One thing I noticed is that Simbrief thinks we are going to runway MMMY/11 but MSFS appears to think it is MMMY/12.
Hello! Welcome to our forum and thank you for the feedback!
That is because you are currently using an outdated AIRAC cycle. If you have never had a Navigraph subscription, you are likely using cycle 2303, which is almost 2 years old. Since then, MMMY seems to have changed the identifier of runway 11 to 12!
Now, as for why this crashes the simulator… Some technical details:
Loading the flight plan by importing a PLN file is different from importing through our EFB app - the technical parts involved are different. The most likely cause of the CTD is that we are requesting the route to be updated with a runway that does not exist, and the simulator does not handle the missing runway gracefully.
We’ll consider updating the EFB app to do some checks of its own to make sure that this runway is not being set, to prevent the CTD from occurring! I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update on this.
I normally use the EFB import and the PLN file import (RJ Professional) together. My ‘workaround’ was to manually set the airports in MSFS and just import the PLN.
I’ll give the new build a go tonight and let you know.
