Cross Country Navigation Lesson - VPPL

Hi,

I successfully completed the Cross Country lesson with a 96% pass mark. It hasn’t updated and still shows as “in progress” which meand I cannot continue to the next lesson.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, we are looking into this at the moment.

Just completed final flight cross country Zurich have same issue. Score 100% but still says lesson in progress and cannot progress to final test. Please advise

@Occultatum Can you check your lesson list now, please? Are you able to progress?

Thanks,

Thank you. All well have done exam and passed.
Will redo full course to fill in any gaps and improve. My overall score was final check ride 100% Final exam 90% memory recall no revision.
Congratulations on an enjoyable yet reasonably challenging course.

Have Honeycomb yoke set up and Logitech multipanel radio panel and pedals. Triple curved 2k monitors.
Had to spend some hours testing calibration for trim and accuracy of handling Cessna 172. After much trial and error using different options, found Spadnext existing snippets best for fast trim wheel calibration which is very near to real life Cessna trim behaviour. Standard trim in FS2020 is very poor.
Secondly the Graphics map and wording not crisp using 2K DLSs settings triple monitor. In comparison Little navmap spot on visual graphics.
So exported Navigraph OFP to LNM and to Simbrief to check export flows required.
Am also going to try LNM with Google Earth standard and professional. Looking at reviews
Combination is excellent for clear detailed VFR OFP plotting. Love Navigraph for comprehensive OFP planning and Charts. Jepperson.Brilliant.
Maybe a DLSS issue in FS2020 and 2024.I know FS2024 is addressing the DLSS blury monitor graphics. At moment could visually pick out waypoints and terrain features but used LNM to verify. Very precise. Can Navigraph VFR include Google Earth? LNM can easily.
Use Beyond ATC, Your Controls shared Cockpit, FS2Crew for Airbus Fénix A320. Again on this environment Navigraph with Google Earth would be ace.
All the best

Hi,

Mine still says in progress?

@Occultatum

The Honeycomb throttle quadrant does have some drawbacks, particularly just a switch for reverse thrust, rather than an axis and another switch for the trim wheel. One would assume they could have used a potentiometer but for some reason, they chose a microswitch.

Spad.next is a very good option to map keybinds/axis, FSUIPC7 is also a really good option too, unfortunately both are payware.

Regarding graphics, if you have not done so already, I would check the various presets for DLSS. These allow you to optimise performance. Check the video below for more info about this.

@AverageGeordie This should be fixed now.

Yes that’s sorted, thank you!

Thankyou for comments. After much trial testing and comparison, I have found Spadnext was the best way to go. It provides a unified interface for controls integration, providing for s more stable environment.
With all your teams extensive experience in big jets, I really hope Navigraph Academy will do a big jets piloting and navigation training course.
Spadnext really comes into its own when configuring multiple instrument and flight control devices. Frankly excellent. I could not configure my sim rig without it. The real test is using FSipanel with custom waypoints and STARS. Additional waypoints to original OFP. WinWing MCDU ECAM etc. Fénix and FBW work very well.
All the rig configuration, bindings etc have to be spot on otherwise errors can occur OFP waypoints not being followed etc.
Again thx

Thanks so much for your insight, thats really useful info.

We do need to develop Academy with the stock configuration mechanisms, though. By introducing Spad.next (and WinWing…or WinCTRL) into the equation, it would force users into a 3rd party components.

Of course, the stock MSFS configuration could be improved, we tried the best we can in order to solve the view configuration.

Thankyou . I appreciate your comments and agree with you. The Cessna 172 is a relatively simple aircraft to configure and implement. However the standard implementation of Trim from Microsoft/Asobo as an example proved for me to be inaccurate even after calibration at all levels.
Found Spadnext Snipet for trim control spot on.

The A320 Fénix or FBW ( in my opinion other product A320 implementations) are behind in terms of study level aircraft. Especially in key areas such as MCDU and OFP implementation and any subsequent changes.
The IFR management is sophisticated and at same time quite easy to follow. Simbrief and Navigraph are superb .
Many people will be using WinWing(Win control) and other vendors of MCDU ECAM FCU.
A key issue is that AP can drop out if driver/ bindings say for flight stick and thrusters are in conflict. So bottom line it is the user to sort such conflicts out and for Navigraph to implement your product line on top of stock FS2020/24 product.
I am writing an integration implementation of BATC ATC protocols dialogue commands with FS2Crew for FP and MP SOPS.
Progressively creation of a Sim Pilots portal for A320 with inclusion of a Sim Pilots POH that will include Navigraph products and training.(Hopefully inclusion of A320 from Navigraph

Last comment. Would be really useful to have a piloting training course for twin engine. Recommend stock Beechcraft Baron. A good stepping stone before getting to grips with the A320.
Navigraph has really hit a sweet spot for SIM piloting and navigation user enjoyment.
