CRJ-550 Simbrief MSFS2020 saved route problem.
Simbrief .fpl route (KCLEKDTW.flp) for Aerosoft CRJ (MSFS2020) using Navigraph data:
KCLE/24R DCT DJB DCT HUDDZ DCT TUMAY DCT MCLUR DCT ANNTS DCT KDTW/04R
Loads into CDU CoRoute (Legs pages) with:
ILS waypoints and duplicate Missed Approach segments.
I copied her the saved route and did 4 screenshots for your review.

I sent the route to this folder (screenshot).
The SimBrief coroute=CLEDTW01 SimBrief.flp
Generated via the CRJ’s EFB (Tablet) does not have the problem I reported.
It is located here on my setup and the contents is shown below.
D:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3919830846-3555096354-194503561-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\aerosoft-crj\work\SimBrief
So, the Simbrief .flp I reported needs a fix by the Simbrief Developer.

Hi,
In this screenshot, you are pointing to waypoint JELLY as being part of the missed approach:
This is incorrect, JELLY is the initial fix (IF) on the ILS 04R. The approach seems to be loaded correctly to be honest.
I agree that the approach seems to be duplicated (after the missed approach, JELLY appears again). I cannot comment on whether this is correct behavior for the CRJ FMS or not, it’s possible the FMS re-inserts the approach after the missed approach so that you can easily perform the approach again after a go-around.
In any case, the SimBrief .flp file formatting seems to be correct. If it is being imported incorrectly into the FMS, I suggest that you report this to Aerosoft directly.
Best regards,
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
You are correct.
In my first post I mentioned the problem:
“Loads into CDU CoRoute (Legs pages) with:
ILS waypoints and duplicate Missed Approach segments.”
I should have said:
Loads into CDU CoRoute (Legs pages) with:
Duplicate ILS waypoints and duplicate Missed Approach segments.
As for the initial screenshot with JELLY.
Sorry for the confusion I caused with the incorrect annotation in the first screenshot.
I should have said:
Only ILS waypoints are shown in this first screenshot.
Duplicate ILS waypoints and duplicate Missed approach waypoints will be shown in the following screenshots.
Hi, thanks for the clarification.
Regarding the file format, as far as I can tell SimBrief is exporting it correctly. This looks like a bug with the aircraft when it tries to import the file.
In these cases, it is much better to contact the aircraft developer directly. That way they can investigate fully, and either fix the bug on their end, or if they find it is a problem with SimBrief, they can reach out to use directly with specific feedback on what needs to be changed.
We initially added the approach data to this format based on popular demand, and we haven’t had any reports of it causing issues in many years now. So I would rather not remove it until we give a chance for Aerosoft/Digital Aviation to look into this and perhaps fix it on their end.
Cheers,
Hi,
You are welcome.
Thanks for the history on adding approaches to the SimBrief route for the Aerosoft CRJ.
Note: SimBrief’s Dispatch does not have data input fields for Procedures (SID/STAR/APPROACH/TRANSITIONS).
Simbrief cannot assume which arrival approach and corresponding missed approach to use for a given route.
Take one example:
KGSO KILM
KGSO/23L TRI9 CARWN DCT FAY V296 YOAST DCT KILM/24
KILM has more than one ILS Rwy24 approach and each has a different missed approach procedure:
The ILS Y LOC Rwy24 uses a missed approach to GM LOM and hold.
The ILS Z Rwy 24 uses a missed approach to LURKY and hold.
So in this case, Aerosoft CRJ does not use any approach (thus no missed approach) in the FMS/CDU.
Flight Plan via the Simbrief OFP Flight Plan downloads:
D:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-3919830846-3555096354-194503561-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\aerosoft-crj\work

I think this is best worked out between Navigraph and Aerosoft.
