Correction frequencies EHBD

When landing on EHBD in the Netherlands only Budel Radio on 122.155 is used in real life. The tower on the military field nearby (kleine Brogel-KB) is NOT to be called unless you are a military aircraft planning to land and already cleared by KB approach. Budel is a TMZ underneath the shelf of the military field of KB. One is not allowed to climb above the 1200 ft mark unless cleared by approach, ran by KB. See also Jeppesen charts. KB tower is only to be called after clearance by approach to land at KB (secondary frequency only by operational requirements)

Hi,
I assume you mean the stock data for any MSFS sim (due to the missing subscription - you can´t mean our data). Please report this to ASOBO/MS.

Thank you very much,
Richard

HinRichard, I mean in your data. I use Sayintentions who uses your data and they referred me after evaluating the issue to this forum to report the discrepancy. Yes it’s not JSF’s, nor SI specific, but the original data you use are applied by others wrongly cf to real life due to the data not reflecting the fact there is no tower in the EHBD VFR only field. Just the radio.

So, you use an outdated cycle … Which cycle do you use?

Cheers
Richard

Honestly I don’t think this is an issue with the cycle. In your data the KleinBrogel (EBBL) tower is mentioned as a valid frequency for the Budel (EHBD) airfield. That is incorrect. Further, I dont know which cycle SayIntentions.ai is using, but what I understand it is the latest. IN real life I use the last Garmin/Jeppersen cycle for Jan-Feb 2025.

We fix issues from cycle to cycle (after reports). Therefore it’s important to use the latest cycle. When you don’t have a valid subscription, you don’t use the latest cycle.

I will check it with SI … And we will fix it if necessary in one of the next cycles. Thanks for your contact.

Cheers
Richard

I have checked the AIP Netherlands and the reference of AIP Belgium.

As on the Jeppesen charts, both AIPs have a primary tower frequency of 134.105.

Here are the latest Jeppesen charts:

Here from the AIP Netherlands:

… and last, here is the reference to the AIP Belgium military airport EBBL (Kleine Brogel):

So, according to the AIPs, the tower frequency is primary and correct.

I hope that helps
Richard

Hey Richard,

Thanks for following up. It is correct and exactly as you found on the charts; however it is the tower frequency of kleine-Brogel, EBBL, so the military field in Belgium across the border from Budel (EHBD) and not the relevant frequencies for Budel, unless in the middle of the night or outside the TMZ of Budel. I’m based at Budel and also did all my training there for the last 3 years. One will never call 134.105 to land in Budel but will descend below 1200ft and enter the TMZ, calling Budel radio 122.155. If one enters too high the TNZ, one is in the class D shelf of EBBL, and will contact approach. Tower only for landing in EBBL. So therefore, in practise of all pilots being stationed there or approaching the field, and thinking about this setup in detail, it is NOT expected of any pilot to contact EBBL tower to take off or land at EHBD.

Kind regards,
Rick
