Charts not opening from Simbrief

WHen I click on Import into charts it doesn’t open the web version of charts and it aske me if I want to open the app. I click on the dialog box and nothing happens. It worked fine yesterday.

Hi, just to confirm, when you click the “Continue with browser version” text, nothing happens? Clicking that text should open the web version:

I have tried with Chrome, Edge, and Firefox and could not reproduce the issue.

Can you please try the following troubleshooting steps?

  1. Click the “Import into Charts” button in SimBrief to open the above page.
  2. Click the “Continue with browser version” button.
  3. If nothing happens, press “F12” to open the browser’s developer console.
  4. Click the “Console” tab, do you see any red error messages?
  5. If not, try clicking the “Continue with browser version” button again while the developer console is open, do any errors appear now?
  6. If any errors appear, please send a screenshot of them here.

Cheers,

This is just an extra step for us Linux users, we don’t have the Charts application. Now it is “import into charts”, click Cancel on the dialog, click “Continue with browser version”. Three clicks instead of one now.

My suggestion would be to either check if running on Linux and go to the browser version directly, or add an option like “remember my choice” and save that as cookie or whatever.

New way isn’t really blocking anything, we can still import it into the browser, but I wouldn’t call it an UI improvement.

Or give us the Linux charts app, that would also be an option.

We’ve now added a redesigned method for opening Navigraph Charts, complete with a “remember my choice” toggle to reduce unnecessary clicks.

Best regards,
