Charts is broken on macOS

  1. Open Charts.

  2. Hide (but not quit) Charts.

  3. Charts will no longer open from the dock, and must be force quit and restarted.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for reporting this.

I can replicate this and have forwarded the issue to our developers. Likely it will be fixed in the next version of Charts.

Interestingly, I cannot reproduce this myself; but I am running a very old version of macOS (Ventura), it’s possible it only affects newer/different environments?

Also, by hiding, do you mean using the Command-H shortcut to hide an application or something else?

Regards,

Tim

Oh nevermind, I can seemingly reproduce it too.

By hiding you actually mean closing the main Charts window using the red cross button in the top-left.

I seem to vaguely recall having the same issue some time ago, then it being fixed at some point, but I cannot seem to find the related topic here (it was some time ago), so perhaps it is a regression?

Regards,

Tim

In addition to fixing this issue, it may be helpful to add the “hide” shortcut like Safari has above, as requested by others:

(the latter post, dating back to 2001, does explain it better than the former although both are requesting the same “hide” feature)

Regards,

Tim

Hello,

Yes, thats right, this may have been a regression as it was fixed before. The development team are aware of the reports so these items will be address for the next release.

On a related note, the ? icon next to chart type in the flight plan options pane does nothing.

The tooltip is working for me, you have to keep hovering over it with the mouse pointer for a second or so.

Regards,

Tim

Ah okay, thought it was a button.

Is there a timeline for the next release?

We don’t have a fix time at this stage.

In the meantime you might try Navigraph Charts .

Cheers
