I have noticed for the past month or two a regular stutter when flying XP12 (current production release) on my Macbook Pro M3 Max. I am running MacOS 15.5 but the stutter began with the prior version of MacOS before a recent update. I fly XP12 on my external Dell U4025QW and run Charts on the native Macbook screen.
I’ve been flying XP12 with Navigraph Charts on the same Mac since October and only noticed this issue in the last month or two.
My initial thinking was to reduce rendering settings, but this did not affect the stutter. However, when turning off the moving map setting on Navigraph Charts Desktop for Mac, the stutter goes away. I am able to repeat this consistently.
On the attached frame rate graph, the first 20 seconds (or so) are the simulator’s actual frame rates with the moving map feature ON. I then turned off Moving Map which eliminates the stutter. Notably, if I connect my iPad wireless via Simlink, there is no affect on frame rates. I am aware of another thread (Windows-related) suggesting that the stutter may be Simlink issue. It is not … the stutters are triggered only when moving map is set to ON.
In addition to this screen shot, I’ve attached my most recent Log file.
Optimistic Navigraph can track this down and address whatever is causing the stutter.
Many thanks.
