When using Autoroute to set up a flight plan, Autoroute is no longer aligning the in-flight route with the entry point to a STAR for the arrival airport. Instead, I have to manually edit the route so that it ends with an entry point to a STAR.
In the past, Autoroute would configure a route such that when I went to select a STAR in Arrival, Charts would give me a recommended STAR and a waypoint to enter the STAR. Now Charts just lists all STARs with no recommendation, and that is because the in-flight route Autoroute created no longer aligns with any STAR for the arrival airport.
This has been happening for a few months, and have had it when using Autoroute for arrival airports KLAX, KORD, KLAS, YBBN, and many others. I would say 90% of all plans created by Autoroute no longer set me up for STAR entry.
Example:
For a flight from WSSS to YBBN Autoroute created the following flight:
WSSS/20C IDBU1B IDBUD T24 SURGA M635 BLI G326 RILGO DCT YBBN/19R
The problem is the last waypoint, RILGO, is not an entry point to any STAR for YBBN.
Autoroute should have set the last waypoint to WOODY, which is an entry point for STARs for YBBN. It should have created the flight plan below:
WSSS/20C IDBU1B IDBUD T24 SURGA M635 BLI G326 WOODY DCT YBBN/19R
In fact, if you look at the flight plan Simbrief creates, you can see it uses WOODY as the waypoint to the STAR.
Simbrief: IDBU1A IDBUD SURGA M635 ATMAP A576 AS T11 ROM Y79 WOODY WODY2A
No STAR is aligned with waypoint RILGO, and when I use ‘Set Arrival’ in Charts it doesn’t show a preferred STAR, just a list of all STARS.
I now have to manually replace RILGO with WOODY to Charts flight plan so that ‘Set arrival’ will list a preferred STAR and STAR entry waypoint.
Currently running Charts 8.37.1 build 2C88326 AIRAC 2501 and started seeing this issue back to 8.36.0 Build a4867f1, AIRAC 2409.
