Hey guys / SimBrief team,
I wanted to suggest a minor terminology tweak to make things 100% accurate to real-world. I noticed the system currently uses the term “ATC Flight Plan,” but legally and technically, it should actually be “ATS Flight Plan” (Air Traffic Services Flight Plan).
I know it sounds like a bit of a nitpick, which it is, but under ICAO (Annex 2 and Doc 4444), Air Traffic Services (ATS) covers Air Traffic Control (ATC) , but it also includes Flight Information Service (FIS) and Alerting Service. Since flight plans are regularly filed just to get flight info or alerting services outside of controlled airspace, it’s not strictly an “ATC” document.
It’s a really small detail, but updating it from “ATC” to “ATS” would perfectly align SimBrief with standard international aviation terminology.
Thanks for all the great work on the tool!
