Apple Pencil (Gen 1) Scratch pad lag

I am running charts on an iPad Pro gen 1 with an apple pencil gen 1 (yes it’s old but so am I) When writing either with the pencil or my finger, the majority of the writing is not being picked up. I get 1/2 of what was written. If I slow down and write very slow, the app picks up everything. Please note, all other apps that I use with the pencil have no skips and pick everything up. Also, I have tried with making sure just the tip of the pencil touches the screen and a more natural writing where my “wrist” if you will rests on the screen. Either or, it makes no difference and the app still isn’t picking up only half. Donno if this lag is being introduced by what I am writing being sent to your servers. Located in Japan by the way.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and providing such detailed context!

First off, there is absolutely nothing wrong with rocking a Gen 1 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil—if the hardware still does the job, there’s no need to change it.

To address your concern directly: This is a known issue and there will always be scope for improvement. This issue will be fixed in a future update of the Charts application.

We appreciate your patience while our development team works on optimizing this experience. If you have any other questions or need further assistance in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thank you!
