Again heavy Issues with the MSFS2024 G1000 plugin

Hello,
I’ve again heavy issues with the G1000 plugin in MSFS2024.
Instead of 2.0.3, it shows 1.4.2 and dosen’t work . Whatever I tried to fix it, wasn’t sucessfully until now:

  • De and reinstalling via Navigraph Hub (1.2.15) >>> manifest.json shows 2.0.3 as version
  • deleting Rolling cache file
  • deleting Nvidia shader cache
  • deleting all files under C:\Users####\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
  • de and reinstalling MSFS2024
  • dis- and reconnect Xbox-Account
  • un- and subribe plugin via MFD and webbrowser

I did some further test. After installing MSFS2024 and the N.-Hub on my Notebook I could activate the Plugin and 2.0.3 was working as expected. On my PC I did some deeper cleaning, so far as Windows 11 it allows. But still 1.4.2 is there. Somewhere in the background an older version must bee be hidden or beeing streamed. How can I get rid of it?

Hello! Sorry to hear that you are having these issues.

What aircraft are you trying this in?

Kind Regards,
Malte

I tested it with most default with the G1000: C172, C208, C400, C40, G36 and the Cows Diamond 42 and 40 (Streamed via MS)

Could you try with the recently released v2.0.4 version?

I have checked the files for this plugin, and 1.4.2 is not present anywhere in there. If you still see this version, there are two possible reasons:

  • You have an old version installed in a different folder that Navigraph Hub cannot see
  • You are using an aircraft that is bundling an old version of the plugin

Since you are trying default aircraft, #1 is the only possible option. Check your community folder, perhaps emptying it completely and only installing the plugin.

If it still does not work, check your installed content through the simulator menus (under marketplace I believe) - search for “Navigraph” and see if you see any duplicates in there.

Will try it.
Whenever I remove the plugin, the files are deleted in my community folder, and nothing is loaded, when starting the sim.
I also checked the default Community Folder, which is empty.

I installed the update, but still 1.4.2

Maybe I found it. As far as I activate the DA 42 from Cows via the library, it’s Version 1.4.2
Without this plane, I’m getting 2.0.4

I did some further deep testing by using the default C172 G1000 and activating in the library my planes one by one.

  • Carenado C182T = no issues
  • FSR Tecnam P2006T MKII = no issues
  • FSR M500 = no issues, but the plane itself shows 2.02, see screenshot
  • Cockspur PH100 = no issue, but the PH100 itself shows 1.4.2, see screenshot
    - Cows Da-42 = the killer! all planes 1.4.2

Thank you for the update!

The FSR being on a static version is expected. The fact that the COWS is on a lower version is also expected (developers need to push an update).

What is not expected though, is that the latter affects all aircraft. This means that they have included the plugin in a non-supported way.

We’ll reach out to them with instructions. In the meantime, you could manually update the plugin version that comes with the COWS aircraft! Let me know if you’d like instructions for that.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thanks, How do I that?

  1. Open your community folder
  2. Find navigraph-avionics-g1000 and open it, then open the html_ui folder within
  3. Copy the NavigraphMods folder
  4. Go back to the community folder
  5. Open the COWS addon folder (cows-da42), then open the html_ui folder within
  6. Paste here. You should be asked to overwrite a bunch of files.

That should be it! Let me know if you still have the same issue.

Actually no, it’s not that simple in 2024 anymore I think.. You’d have to also recalculate the layout.json file. That is a non-trivial task, you will likely have to wait for a fix from the developers.

Apologies for the inconvenience!

Actually, it may be worth trying either way! I got it to work using these exact steps on the DA40 (I don’t have the DA42):

Thanks! I’ll try it with my DA40. My DA42 is streamed…

Looking good. The DA-40 is now okay, as the Da-42 is streamed, I’m not able to to modify the data. Maybe later with SU3

Thank you for the update! The developers behind the aircraft should be including an updated version in their next release, and at that point you won’t have to do anything.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
