Aerosoft A346 can't download/update Navdata

Hi tech support,

I’ve been unable to download or update navdata in Aerosoft’s latest build of A346 v1.0.4. It gets stuck forever in “downloading” status. Here’s a reference picture followed by other details as required.

  • Operating System: Windows 11, build 26200.
  • FS Version: MSFS2024 Sim update 6.
  • Add-on: Aerosoft/ Toliss A346.
  • AIRAC Update No: 2608 rev1.
  • Problem Details so that the problem can be replicated: Tablet/ MCDU unable to update Navdata. Gets stuck in “downloading” status for over 20 minutes.
  • If you refer to a flight plan, please include the text in a form that can be copied and pasted: No flight plan at this point.
  • Any non-standard hardware or software: Tried on standard MSFS scenery - Toulouse.

Further to the details above, I’ve attempted clearing out WASM folder and rebooting the sim followed by a complete clean reinstallation of the aircraft. Nothing worked. I don’t have such issues updating Navdata for inibuild’s Airbuses and PMDG’s 777. Would appreciate your help,

Best,

Atul

Hello,

Have you tried to clear the content.xml file and the the aircrafts work/NavigationData folder?

Work folder

  1. Press Win + R
  2. Type the following and press enter:
Store Edition
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2020\<directory>
Steam Edition
%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\WASM\MSFS2020\<directory>
  1. An Explorer window should open, showing a directory with several files and a work folder. Delete this folder and restart the simulator

Content.xml -

Make sure MSFS is closed and uninstall plugins from the Navigraph Hub.Go to your MSFS 2024 install directory (%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_...\LocalCache).

  1. Find the file named Content.xml.
  2. Delete this file
  3. Start MSFS2024, it will rebuild the content.xml file

Hello Gordon,

I’ve followed the steps above carefully and yet was unsuccessful. The EFB however asked me to re-log into simbrief accountand reconnect to navigraph upon restart. Other than that, the problem remains.

Hi…,

Try disconnecting any Antivirus or firewall and resetting your modem.

Try connecting to the internet via a mobile hotspot.

Cheers

Ian

Hi,

Followed both one after another. Didn’t work. Here’s a screenshot of WASM if it’s any helpful for further understanding.

Are you using a VPN connection? just so we have that out of the way

No. I did try VPN (various servers) a few days back to see if it’d work. Logged out of Navigraph in EFB. But, It wouldn’t even take me to the page to connect/sync the EFB with Navigraph unlike when without VPN. So, I’ve always made sure I left my VPN off. And restarted computer just to keep the internet channels clean.

Try uninstalling the aircraft from you computer, including the leftover files. This includes the a340 folder in the %appdata%/Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024/WASM/MSFS2024/

Its important that all remnants of the aircraft have been removed before you reinstall it again.

A few more points to try,

  • make sure that your computer time/date is synchronised with the internet. Verify this, if you already have not.
  • As previously mentioned, uninstall the aircraft and make sure to remove any remnant configurations/folders.
  • Reinstall plugins from Navigraph Hub

Please let us know how all these go.

Hi,

I followed the steps above. Clean re-installation with WASM folder manually deleted before re-installation. No success sadly. No VPN connected, firewall & windows defender all turned off.

Additionally, I reset the ip address too following this address: www.hongkiat.com Sometimes I have issues opening MSFS and following these steps here (renewing ip, flushing dns and resetting winsock) helps. This time it didn’t with the A346 and here below is the screenshot.

Date and time are well synced as well for my zone that I’m in (Beijing Time). Otherwise, MSFS would load up - something that I had noticed a while back and links with windows’ updates.

So bizarre.

Have you been discussing with Aerosoft/Toliss support?

I am not entirely sure but the last line of the console is interesting. It seems to suggest the WASM crash is associated with the module responsible for handling the Navigraph FMS data endpoint. Since we’re not able to query their implementation, it would be very interesting to hear their feedback about this.

… only to look on other things too. Not all WASM crashes are always from our data. So it is possible that you have any other package installed that results in this crash:

Would make sense. But, I’ve tried across various third party and stock airports with no success. I’ll reach out to the Aerosoft forums and seek for help and keep you all updated. I remember this not being the case in early versions of the A346.

Sadly no response from the guys at Aerosoft.
