Ability to create Helicopter Airframes in Simbrief

Gd’day.

I am a relatively long-time member of Navigraph/Simbrief. I fly a range of airframes from GA Turboprops, Executive Jets and Heavy haulers.

My helicopter hanger is stocked (LOL) with Bell 222Bs, B212s, Bell 412s MD550s and BO-105s. As much as they’re all a challenge to ‘light off’ their turbines.. I’ve incorporated several flight dynamics performance tools that make them fun to fly.

Unfortunately, there are no base helicopter ICAO airframes included in Simbrief’s ICAO templates that would allow someone to select and possibly customize a helicopter.

In other words, creating a simulated Medical Life Flight from a highway intersection (Lat/Long) fix to a close by Hospital ER Trauma Unit (Lat/Long) is not possible - as far as I’ve dug around - you’d first need to have the helicopter in your airframe selection set.

The next SNAFU is the ability to pre-file a flight on VATSIM via Simbrief. Without a selected airframe? There’s no joy.

I’d be happy to help the Dev Team evaluate the possibility of including a sub set of Helicopter airframes within Simbrief.

My contact info is linked to my Forum login and my Simbrief login. I think I’ve been a paid Navigraph/Simbrief member for close to a decade??? I’m also pushing to burst through 15.7k VATSIM hours by 12/31/24.

Regards,

Keith

As I mostly fly CH-47 missions in Neofly, and now Just Flights “Fly the Line”, I would love to see some Helicopter Profiles in Navigraph/Simbrief. Please make it happen.

CH-47 here as well (X-Plane 12). Impossible to find a base aircraft with 2200 lb/hr and 140 Kt cruise. Even with the +/- fuel burn offset it’s impossible to get there. I really want to at least file with a reasonable TAS. 140 Kt fixed wing are 172s etc. Not a good base aircraft.

Now trying to make up a Bell 429 GlobalRanger. Along with @quepsi83 I’m really feeling the pain from not being able to file IFR with SayIntentions due to no suitable aircraft type. How about just putting in a form to “start from scratch” instead of basing it on some other aircraft? I’d be happy to just set it up myself like I can do in Foreflight!!
