A320 Family FINAL RES Fuel Calculation Based on Flaps 1 Configuration

Hello Navigraph/SimBrief Team,

I would like to submit a “bug” regarding the calculation of FINAL RES fuel for the A320 family within SimBrief.

As far as I understand, the current FINAL RES calculation in SimBrief appears to be based on a clean configuration. Historically, this was also the method used by many real-world operators. However, in recent years, many airlines operating the A320s have moved towards calculating FINAL RES fuel using a Flaps 1 configuration instead.

This is especially relevant because the Airbus FMGC also uses Flaps 1 for this calculation. As a result, the FINAL RES value planned on the OFP can differ from the value calculated and displayed by the aircraft’s MCDU.

This difference can lead to situations where users see a negative EXTRA fuel value before departure, and in some cases throughout the flight, particularly when operating with minimum block fuel. This may give the impression that the flight is under-fuelled, even though the discrepancy is mainly caused by the difference between the OFP calculation method and the FMGC prediction logic.

For this reason, it would be very useful if there would be an option to calculate FINAL RES fuel using Flaps 1 instead of the Clean config.

Thank you for your continued work on SimBrief and for considering this request!
