Before order charts, navigation question

Post by wigerup » Sat Nov 23, 2019 4:56 pm

I have a navigation question that I have been thinking and tried for so long time, but can not figuered out how I handle this before purchase any charts.

No GPS, no autopilot.

I fly straight out for example RWY 32 heading 312 until reaching 800ft the turn left to intercept waypoint NU700 and the intercept radial 155 to waypoint Dedit.

This is Sid Dedit1l at UME (ESNU) VOR 114.25 airport.

How do I reach waypoint NU700 and Waypoint Dedit without GPS. That will say hands on. Like Pilots did in the old days.

Regards

DEDIT 1L is an RNAV procedure. It requires RNAV capability (usually provided by the GPS). There is no way to fly an RNAV departure "old school", sorry.

DEDIT1L is a RNAV SID, so you can only fly it if you have RNAV equipment available, e.g. a suitable GPS and indicators, an autopilot is not required. With classic navigation systems you can not and are not allowed to fly that DEDTT1L SID.

That means there is no suitable SID for DEDIT from RW32 with classic instruments.
So then I would file a TINDO departure with DCT DEDIT and coordinate with ATC when to turn to DEDIT with vectors or via intercept radial 165 UME outbound to DEDIT

Please note:
UME is on 114.1 MHz
The 156 you see on the RNAV DEDIT1L is not a radial (of a beacon) but a track to be flown between N700 and DEDIT on the RNAV SID

Peter.
