PC replacement?

Post by zarkov505 » Wed May 17, 2017 1:11 pm

I am currently running my system on a somewhat down-spec PC.

I am contemplating buying a full-spec PC, and building a much more capable sim around it, but it will be a while. I already know that I can move Prepar3D and the PMDG 737NGX to the new PC, when and if I get the new machine (and the video monitors, and a lot of other hardware...).

Can the Navigraph data also be moved easily? What is involved?

Hi John.

I don't foresee any problems with what you are describing as long as you have current subscriptions and don't have any particular need to access older cycles.

The current Charts software downloads what it needs online, so any charts you need on the new computer will be downloaded as they are needed.

The FMS Data Manager will scan and find your addons and then install the latest navdata into the corresponding data directories.

As you can see, I don't think you will need to create any backups and transfer them between computers. Just install any Navigraph software; register your account; and download what you need.

Regards
