What type of coordinates are in the "BAW" type of OFP?

What type of coordinates are in the “BAW” type of OFP ?

Looking at coordinates to input into CIVA INS of which appears CIVA INS needs coordinates in DMS Type ?

unless have other recommendations for CIVA INS and coordinates or is that just Navigraph ?

Hi,

Most OFP layouts list coordinates as Degrees Decimal Minutes (DDM). So in the BAW layout for example:

The first line (for EGLL) gives coordinates as N5128.7W00027.7. You can relatively simply calculate the seconds by multiplying the decimal by 6. So in this case: 51° 28.7' N, 000° 27.7' W, would convert to 51° 28' 42" N, 000° 27' 42" W (the decimal is .7 for both latitude and longitude, multiplied by 6 is 42).

I don’t believe any currently supported OFP layouts give coordinates in DMS, nor have I ever seen any in real life. Most likely because all modern aircraft are using DDM coordinates nowadays.

Hope this helps,
