Recently whenever using the Charts app or viewing it on a browser that’s utilising the GPU via browser settings if you turn on the weather radar layer it causes an insane spike in VRAM usage.
This issue was not occurring a few days ago, and begun surfacing for me about 20 hours prior to the posting of this post. While turning on any weather layer typically always increased the VRAM usage, it was never to this degree. I’d see at most 100mb more being used but now it’s using over 1GB more of memory.
Attached are two images showcasing task manager displaying the charts app and how much dedicated GPU memory it is using both before and after enabling the weather radar layer.
VRAM Usage Images
Although the images showcase the charts app, this also occurs when used on browser that has hardware / GPU acceleration enabled as well. A workaround to this issue is just to use browser with such setting disabled.
