Yes easily, if one doesn’t mind introducing a layer between joystick and SIM (which can prove a bit flaky). VoiceAttack will do it. It can recognise and process Joystick button presses, not just voice commands. Joystick Gremlin will also do it. And probably any software supplied with one’s Joystick.
This helped a lot, the map font is readable again, although the Navigraph Chart title bar is now very large. Using the trick you suggested, I also had to reduce the interface scale to 1.4, this adjusted the interface font to a comfortable readable size, but left the title name (Navigraph Chart and bar), very large.
However this is much less an issue then the small font, I can live with that.
Guys, I have to chip in here.
When a new version of Windows is released or updated, ISV’s are expected to check compatibility of their apps and adjust their code if necessary. What you’re saying is akin to an ISV expecting Microsoft to redevelop Windows to suit their app. App compatibility is a top concern but it would be impossible for Microsoft to be responsible for the compatibility of every3rd party app in the Windows ecosystem. Right?
The onus is on the ISV to address compatibility issues so that their product can run on Windows not the other way round. Isn’t this really what you’re implying? That the msfs developer should adjust their code to suit your app?
I do hope you can take at least some responsibility for this problem because you have such an awesome product. I loved it. But it’s unusable for me as VR user only flying VFR.
Best
John
No, the two scenarios are not as akin as it may sound. The environment we are working with is not an OS, it is a browser environment based on an old version of WebKit (roughly equivalent to Safari 10.1.2, STP 34) - which does have a specification that in this case is no longer being followed. Parts of specifications can be deprecated, but that process takes a long time and is not something that suddenly shows up in a simulator update.
The panel is a wrapper around our existing product, which in itself is being published to at least 5 different platforms excluding MSFS. We will not be rewriting large chunks of our product, with guaranteed implications for the other platforms, just because Asobo decides to deviate from the spec to support their use cases.
With that said, we would love to find a workaround! We already found one for the interface itself, and the next step would be to find one that works for the map too. We have it on our “todo-list”, but it is not the first priority at the moment for several reasons, including the summer holidays.
We are well aware of this issue and we do want to look further into it as soon as we get a chance to!
Kind Regards,
Malte
Hi guys, i just did a test flight in VR and the navigraph in game panel is too small. I guess there is still no official fixed to this issue (from Asobo side) correct? the solution is to upscale right, as previouly mentioned by Stephen?
Neither Asobo nor Navigraph has been able to fix this yet, no. You can change the scale of the user interface, but the map is often still relatively small! It seems like several users have had success with this workaround posted a while ago in this thread:
Kind Regards,
Malte
Well MSFS may not be your priority but it is mine. I’m unwilling to change simulator so I can use Navigraph!
Thus with a heavy heart I’ve cancelled my sub. It was great for the few months it worked in VR.
(FSKneeboard and other 3rd party apps do not have the issue. It’s interesting they can overcome this but Navigraph can’t. FSKneeboard allows AIP data, has fixed the scaling issue and works perfectly in VR).
Sorry to see you go! I hope you’ll be back when we figure out a solution.
That’s not really fair at all, since FSKneeboard has a fraction of the complexity involved and is written for MSFS, while we are working with a complex app that is published to 5 platforms. As mentioned, we will investigate further once we have the resources to do so!
Kind Regards,
Malte
any updates on this? It is annoying that I cannot read anything when in VR on navigraph charts. Everything is so miniscule.
Hello everyone! I have done a little experiment, but I cannot confirm whether or not it has any effect since I do not have this issue myself. It is not unlikely that this will cause trouble by being too big for some users, so we will likely have to polish the final implementation, but for now, it is an experiment!
If you found the map too small before, please try this change and see if it improves the situation! Please remember to turn on the “Use large-scale map” option in settings as usual.
The version in settings should be 8.30.0, build larger-map!
Kind Regards,
Malte
Hello Malte,
I have had problems reading the map in VR mode, but with today’s update, I can now read everything perfectly. Great job! I have always found Navigraph to be highly responsive to their users. Here is just another example.
Thanks again,
John
Thanks a lot for the report! Happy to hear that it worked out in your case!
Keep 'em coming! Looks like we might have a possible solution here then!
Hi Malte,
I cannot express to you how happy I am right now…legend ![]()
Many thanks,
D
I didn’t know about the new fix and I could not work out why the clunky workaround that I had been using was giving me such huge text on the map. I’m happy to report that with the large map option enabled and the UI scale at 2.6 - 2.8 it works really well for me and I’m VERY appreciative. I was well aware of what you had said about the issue when it first cropped up about it not being a priority as there was a workaround and that you were working on other things (which I’m also enjoying, thanks) but I was quietly confident that you would do something about it as you are always striving to improve your products and you have never let us down. To that end, I sat in silence but I’m not going to lie, as someone who uses the sim for hours every day and uses it exclusively in VR, it had probably become my biggest gripe with the sim as it currently stands (which also goes to show just how far the sim has come since its’ early days). That gnawing thought that the VR community might be being ignored has gone and I’m stoked. Thanks again.
Thank you for the confirmation and all the kind words! We’re happy that we could make it work for you guys. This has been in the back of our minds for a while now!
The next update will include a map scale selector that lets you set your preferred scale, including 4x which is what you are currently using if you enable the “large-scale map” option!

I hope you get to enjoy the panel to its fullest now, apologies for the delay and the inconvenience!
Kind Regards,
Malte
Vastly better. Thank you ![]()
With the latest release, this change is now official! I hope this solves the issues that everyone in this thread has been having.
If you have any other issues, please don’t hesitate to create a new topic!
Kind Regards,
Malte
