I’d like to suggest a ChatGPT connector or MCP app for SimBrief, mainly focused on helping users create new flight plans.
Since SimBrief already has a read-only API for fetching the latest OFP, I think the next useful step would be an integration where ChatGPT can help prepare a new dispatch. For example, users could describe what they want to fly, such as aircraft type, route length, region, preferred cruise level, payload, or alternates, and ChatGPT could turn that into proper SimBrief planning parameters.
The actual flight plan should still only be submitted after user confirmation, of course. ChatGPT would act more like an interactive planning assistant: suggesting routes, checking fuel and alternates, explaining choices, and then sending the final confirmed parameters to SimBrief.
This could be very useful for sim pilots who want a smoother planning workflow, especially when they are not sure about routing, fuel, alternates, or aircraft setup.
Would Navigraph / SimBrief consider supporting this officially, or allowing third-party developers to build it under the proper API terms?
