Option to display current flight in Simbrief w/ MSFS

LittleNavMap manages to do this and it’s very nice to see where your plane is on the intended route. Please consider adding this feature to Simbrief’s map feature.

Thanks!

Noel

Hi Noel,
the moving map via Simlink & our chart app is still in production. So, you can follow your aircraft on the word map, on the satellite view or directly on the printed charts from Jeppesen. You can use it with on all sim-platforms … The Simbrief map is only for flight planning.

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks Richard, I take that to mean my suggestion isn’t going to happen, correct? Okay well I’ll continue to use LNM though I could eliminate that were this simple feature be added to the Simbrief map. I don’t have a lot of screen space and do not want any other apps running, and have no need for charts.

I don’t use charts so that’s out the window. My suggestion was for you to display on the SB map which nicely shows the route, and how simple to add it to that, just like freeware LittleNavMap does. But you’re not interested in implementing that suggestion. I tried, thanks for the reply, so I’ll stick w/ LNM.

SimBrief is mainly intended for flight planning, before the flight commences. The Charts app is meant for navigation during flight. We have no intention to change this, and hence no plan to add moving maps to SimBrief.

May I ask, why are you not using Charts?

Stephen

One of the wonderful attributes of “flight simulators” is they can be used in a variety of ways. I’m not a RW pilot, I’ve been at this hobby for over 30 years, and I’ll never be a RW pilot. I use “A Pilot’s Life” as an airline pilot which scores all of my flights in MSFS, and that is why I use it, for the pilot rating piece. I have no desire to use Charts because everything I need is provided in-sim, or with LittleNavMap. If SB’’s map offered realtime flight tracking like LNM does I’d likely not use LNM. But there are other attributes of LNM that are useful for me, and I have donated to the dev. I do use Navigraph for FMS data. I deduced you made this decision for business purposes, so no worries just thought I’d ask.

Cheers

I also wondered why the option to track the flight on the SimBrief Map was never added. Especially with all the weather info that can be displayed now.
