MSFS2020 present in Hub even if uninstalled

I experience the exact same problem as in this post: Hub Detecting Uninstalled Simulators .

MSFS2020 is completely uninstalled from my system, the folder is indeed gone. I can’t find any traces of a configuration file in %localappdata%. I have tried to reinstall Navigraph Hub, but it still shows up.

Hi,
Could you please check if this folder exists?

Copy & paste this line into your file explorer:

when you had the Store version:
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

when you had the Steam version:
%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\LocalCache

Cheers
Richard

I had MSFS2020 from steam. The LocalCache directory does not exist, however the base directory does.

PS C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator> ls *LocalCache* -Recurse -Directory
PS C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator>

The critical file is the UserCfg.opt file … The Hub searches for this file to determine if (and which) MSFS version is installed.

UserCfg.opt file → Hub shows the MSFS2020 tab:

Renamed my UserCfg.opt file to _UserCfg.opt → Hub does not show the MSFS2020 any longer:

Can you please check if you have this file somewhere on your system? Of course, for MSFS 2024, you also have this file, but it is located in a different root folder but this file should be located in the LocalCache folder … for MSFS2020 and MSFS2024.

Cheers,
Richard

That was it! UserCfg.opt was present in %appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator. Renamed it and MSFS2020 disappeared from Hub.

Thank you
