Today I flew from EDDP to EDDS via STAR NOSB1E. The FMC at the plane has more waypoints as the chart for NOSB1E. There are some missing waypoints.
I have attached some screenshots about this issue.
Please, could you help me?
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Best regards,
Peter Leinmueller
Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for the detailed post, the images are greatly appreciated.
What you are seeing is expected. The NOSB1E STAR has multiple transitions and uses a different set of waypoints based on your arrival routing. The two FMC pages show different transitions within the same STAR, DS411 - DS414 sequence versus DS416,DS419,DS424.
The chart appearing to have fewer waypoints than the FMC, the DS fixes are RNAV waypoints that are coded into he navigation database that will precisely define the lateral path. Not all intermediate fixes are labeled on the chart plan view but they are present in the procedure data, this is why the FMC will display them.
The extra waypoints appearing when importing the flight plan with an approach, MSFS will load the full coded approach procedure including all intermediate fixes, the FAF and the MAPt. These are all required for the aircraft to fly the procedure.
