Please tell me why this approach data is missing.
I use XP12 and Simbrief to download the Nav data files, now 2608.
All other approach options are present in the FMS. (for this runway)
This problem seems a bit strange because Jason used this approach in his recent Navigraph ‘Challenging Approaches’ exercise.
The approach is present in Navigraph Charts but not in the downloaded database.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks very much for this quick response.
In XP12 I am using the Toliss A339, but I have also tried, for this particular problem, the default Laminar A330 and the B737 so that I can see what those FMS’s are doing.
This is what I am seeing in my X Plane Custom Data folder, CIFP.
I don’t know enough about it to be able to interpret but I can already see differences compared with the database extract that you have provided.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can send to you or if this enough for you to see where it is going wrong.

I just want to add that I can now confirm that the download from Navigraph does not contain the approach LICR, RNP Rwy 33 (AR), as shown in the above extract.
I have made a new empty CIFP folder and done a fresh download of 2608 using the Navigraph Updater.

This approach uses AF/RF leg path types, which require a center waypoint to calculate the turns/radius in the FMC. This center-waypoint seems to be missing, also on the charts and therefore also in the data. Therefore this approach can´t be coded at the moment (at least with our ARINC424 version, which we use). It could be that the AIP Italy will add this waypoint in one of the next cycles, but that is out of our control. At the moment, this waypoint reference is missing, but is needed to code the approaches for the FMC.

I do not want to contradict what you are saying but are you aware that this approach was present in Airac 2606, and previous.
My current understanding is that the real life aviation ‘Authorities’ have withdrawn this approach. Presumably this affected Jeppesen, from where you source your charts and this has had a knock on effect on the recent Airac releases?

My apologies; I backup my navdata in a git repository, and it appears when I checked the files for the presence of this approach, my repository was in a middle of a bisect which I had forgotten to reset, pointing to an older cycle which did contain the approach.

Edit: FWIW, the approach was present in the data until cycle 2606 inclusive, and removed starting with cycle 2607. The coordinates for the RF center waypoints are not missing so much as they were removed along with the approach with cycle 2607.
The approach was experimental, and the testing period has apparently ended on June 11, 2026: Aeroporto Reggio Calabria: termina la fase sperimentale della procedura RNP (AR) RWY 33 • AeroportiCalabria.com
The website does not know specifically why the approach was not picked up at the end of the testing phase, but goes on to speculate that it may have been due to lack of interest from airlines.

I think that at least we have ended up with a conclusion about where it went wrong.
For myself I have extracted the LICR data file from a 2606 backup and copied it into 2608. Now I can use it to practice this AR approach.
