Missing Airport - BHJ/VABJ - Bhuj Airport, Gujarat, India

In the most recent data cycle (2512), the Indian airport of Bhuj (IATA: BHJ/ ICAO: VABJ) is missing. This airport does exist in MSFS2024. Here is more information about this airport: Bhuj Airport - Wikipedia

Hi,
It seems that this airport is a military one (plus a limited public). I have looked in the AIP India, and this airport is not listed and therefore not included.

Here is a screenshot of the available airports directly from the AIP:

Happy New Year

Yes, I am aware that VABJ does not show in India’s eAIP portal. However, neither does VILH, VIAG or VAPO all of which are dual military/public airports with no published charts. However, they are available in the Navdata (as well as charts.navigraph.com) and can be used in the SIM.

All I am asking is for the basic navdata for VABJ to be added so that we can plan flights on simbrief.com as well as operate them using aircraft that use Navigraph’s navdata. There are 5 commercial flights daily to this airport of which 4 are operated by Air India.

Please let me know if this is possible to do.

Hi,
No, sorry, this is not possible due to the missing data from the AIP (and all our other sources), but when you can provide us the records in the ARINC424 format, we can add it.

Cheers,
Richard

I’m confused! It shows up in charts.navigraph.com - how is that? But it does not show on Simbrief and does not show up in the aircraft navdata (in this case, Fenix A321). How does that work? So all I am really asking is for the data to be available in Simbrief and in the aircraft databases - is that not possible? If not possible, that is okay too - I have other means to flight plan at my disposal. Just was confused why it’s in one but not the other.

There are no runways available. As I have written before, the AIP does not offer this airport, and therefore, the provider can’t add it.

You see “only” the airport because this information in the charts comes from OSM, but this source can’t be used for aviation.

Hope it is clearer now
Richard

Thank you Richard! Happy New Year to you. I am surprised that Jepessen dropped this from their AIRAC as it definitely used to be there. But any way, I will rely to alternate sources to plan these flights.

It is not dropped … The country does not offer the data to the public, and therefore, the data provider can’t add it.

This is data provider independent and has nothing to do with Jeppesen. Lido in MSFS also does not offer this airport.

Happy New Year
Richard
