Well gentlemen @skysail @monsoonrat, I found the malfunction without creating a new account. As far as I’m concerned and recommend to the Navigraph team is that you need to review the app (Navigraph Charts) a bit because as per the title of the Post “it shouldn’t work this way”
You are ready?
The solution is to make sure that this option is checked: (see screenshots for greater clarity)
- System → Advanced system settings → Advanced → Performance → Settings → “Animate controls and elements inside windows☑️”.
@skysail I deserve a free subscription
You’re Welcome guys. I wish you a happy weekend and happy flights

Thank you so much for the report! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Hmm, that option is checked by default in Windows. The fact that it was not checked for you also explains why you saw the issue in Chrome, since it affects all apps! As far as I can tell based on the information about this option that I can find on the internet, our app (and the browser) is functioning “as expected” given the environment.
Fantastic work finding this, we’ll have these performance options on our watchlist for similar issues in the future! We appreciate you sharing your solution with us.
@monsoonrat , could you confirm that this solution works for you too?
Kind Regards,
Malte
mine was turned off as well. I checked back on, but it did not work for me. I did noticed that I do not have any issues when I use the Navigraph tool in VR, so as long as I have this option working for me…I am happy with this limitation.
That’s interesting! So the issue is still there even with “Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer” ticked? Or perhaps even better - the “Adjust for best appearance” option?
On the other hand, it seemed random for you so I am not sure that the issue is the same to begin with
I will try these 2 options and let you know if they work for me.
Don’t worry, I check in every PC that didn’t work, and with that check work now. Is interesting the fact that not work in the @monsoonrat case.
Anyway you guys can review that app to get better in performance, because with the effect option of windows turned on, I have a lot of stuttering in the Navigraph app.
Sorry for the question are you guys hiring?
That’d be much appreciated, thanks!
Any computer that can run a simulator should be able to run the app with no issues. The performance implications are not completely negligible though, you can read more about why this is in this topic!
Another factor that we can’t dictate ourselves at the moment is hardware acceleration. If you have that turned off or unavailable, our app will perform horribly since it will have to do GPU work on the CPU which is super slow in comparison. Again, this is not something we can affect - it’s up to your OS, drivers etc!
Yes! See careers.navigraph.com for opportunities.
Kind Regards,
Malte
With no issues yes!!! but no without a lot of stuttering and flickering…
Those sound like issues to me! Feel free to open a new topic with a screen recording. Stuttering or flickering is not expected for any computer that can run a simulator.
Kind Regards,
Malte
To circle back to this topic:
We believe that we have tracked down the cause of the initial issue with the menus not working well with certain performance optimizations turned on in Windows!
When the mentioned checkboxes are unticked, applications such as ours as well as any web browsers receive this information from the PC and in turn enable something called “Reduced motion” mode.
Our animations are supposed to respect this value by skipping the animation completely and just instantly opening/closing the menus instead.
It seems like we have a bug somewhere, likely in upstream (non-Navigraph) code, which breaks certain animations in this mode. We can confirm that we can “fix” the issue on our side by completely ignoring the “reduced motion” instructions from the PC for these specific menus, so we’ll likely include that as a temporary fix in the next update!
I’ll try to keep this topic up-to-date when we release it!
Kind Regards,
Malte
@skysail I had no doubt that it can be solved and above all that you have found the problem. This is all music to my ears.
Look forward to the next update as this is really annoying considering how well your stuff normally works! Thanks
This update should now be released! Please confirm that the issue is indeed solved.
Kind Regards,
Malte
The issue is NOT solved with the last update when I go home I post a video.
That’s odd. Please do, and make sure to include your windows performance settings!
@skysail All explained in the video at my work.
2024-05-07 14-58-38.mkv (5.9 MB)
by the way that’s not odd, you guys have to tested at 360°
That could be an issue on our side. Can you please try again, and make sure to refresh your browser?
i have already refresh the browser. Is in the Video did you see, when i’m refresh the browser???
I can see that you do it in your video, no worries. I am asking if you can try it again now
when i get home i try and i let you know
