# International Flight Plans

In this plan CYYT/10 M078F330 DCT YYT DCT NICSO NATU 48N050W/M078F350 NATU XETBO DCT ARKIL/N0454F350 DCT ANNET UM25 INGOR/N0427F280 UM25 LUKIP LUKI9V LFPG/09L notice that speed starts in M (mach) at level 330 and changes to K (knots) at level 350 - any idea why? I would think at 350 is would still be M. HINT ??? - Where the change occurs is at ARKIL which is within Shanwick control and Shanwick issues speed commands in “K” not “M” - does that make sense?

You plan and file your route over the Atlantic in Mach, but when hitting landfall waypoint in Europe it switches correctly to knots
