I am flying an RNP10 approach at Heringsdorf Airport using the Fenix A319.
Everything is working well except for the vertical guidance. The glide path only captures about 2 NM past the BUGAH descent point.
What could be the problem?

Hi,
Thanks for contacting us.

First question, can you reproduce this with any stock aircraft (like the C172 with the G1000) too?

Second, have you installed any 3rd-party packages or scenery, excluding ours?

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard,

I’ve run a few tests:

The RNP approach to RWY10 works with the C172 (G1000).

With the Fenix (A319, A320), the descent from 3,000 ft begins much too late and proceeds at a rate of approximately 1,200 ft/min.

It makes no difference whether third-party scenery is installed or not.

There are no issues with the RNP approach to RWY28; the descent point is set correctly there.

Do you have any other ideas?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Servus Hans-Jürgen,
I have checked the Fenix database, and the values there are OK so far and match MSFS. I know that Fenix uses its own algorithm to calculate LOC/GS, so there is a possibility of an issue. I would highly recommend reporting this to Fenix; it appears to be more of an issue with their systems. I´m sorry …

Cheers,
Richard
