How does Navigraph FMS Data manager automatically detect simulators that are not installed on my computer?
In the settings window of the application, it shows two simulators that have long been uninstalled. Furthermore, it shows one of the simulators to be a scenery file.
I have deleted these paths many many times, but they still return. I have also deleted them in the ‘settings.conf’ file, but again they return.
Furthermore, I have also uninstalled the application and manually deleted the folder in which it is installed, as well as cleaning the registry, but all to NO AVAIL!
Where is the FMS Data Manager getting this erroneous information from because it is not from the registry or from config files?
Hi,
please be so kind and let us know WHICH simulator the FMS Data Manager found, which are not on your system any longer?
I assume, the un-install process of this sim wasn’t 100% successfully. So, it would be cool to know which sim the FMS Data Manager detected.
Also, please delete the settings.conf file, restart the FMS Data Manager and upload the latest log-file here after the startup, that we can verify a few things.
Thank you very much
Richard

Hello Richard, thank you for your prompt reply.
It is the P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 simulators that are not installed.
Regards
Mike
Thanks Mike - both are registry entries, which we check - when the entries exist, we set the correct path. I´m pretty sure now, that something went wrong during the un-install process of these sims, but anyway we will fix it …
Please be careful with the next steps because you can “destroy” your system, if you made any mistakes:
- Open the Registry-Editor
- Goto
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3
- Delete now the entries
AppPath
andInstalled
- Goto
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
- Delete now the entries
AppPath
andInstalled
I have added an example for you with your values. The red bar´s are the folder, the yellow marked entries must be deleted:
Close the Registry-Editor and reboot your PC (IMPORTANT!!!).
After that, please delete your settings.conf
file again and re-start the FMS Data Manager. The paths will not be added any longer thru the FMS Data Manager.
Hope that helps,
Richard
That’s fixed it Richard, thank you.
Shouldn’t the registry be updated when the data is saved?
Mike
