Dear Navigraph team,
I hope you’re doing great!
I have an issue with using a dash in my aircraft profile.
When updating the Extra FPL Info (Item 18) I use RMK/my-airline.com (address changed not to violate any advertisement policy here), but when I’m trying to prefile the flightplan, VATSIM remark is now myairline.com, and dash is missing.
I saw previous discussions on the topic, that “vatsim is removing the link”, but if I copy the url of the “PREFILE” button, I already see in the URL that the Simbrief platform is sending it to VATSIM without the “-”.
https://my.vatsim.net/pilots/flightplan?fuel_time=0207&raw=(FPL- … %20RMK%2FMYAIRLINE.COM%20SIMBRIEF)
And if I modify the link manually, adding the “-” and go with the link, it appears in VATSIM Flight Plan RMK/ field correctly, “my-airline.com”.
Any chance I can avoid that or it can be fixed?
Kind regards,
Hi, real-world flight plan processing systems (such as Eurocontrol’s IFPS) do not allow the “-” character to be used in the RMK/ indicator:
That being said, I believe the reason we were intentionally removing the hyphen in this case was for compatibility with VATSIM’s system. In the past it might have returned an error if a hyphen was included, but that no longer seems to be the case.
While this isn’t strictly realistic, we have re-enabled hyphens in VATSIM prefiles. Please let us know if you (or any other user) encounters any issues over the coming days due to this change, if so we will probably need to revert it.
Best regards,
Good day!
Thank you for a quick reply and the implemented fix. I’ve checked it and it works as expected.
Me and my airline colleagues will monitor and report the issues if any will arise, but I am deeply grateful for the fix from myself and all users who arised the issue before.
Thank you for your support and product you’re making!
Kind regards,
