24-hour historical live traffic using Flightradar24 data

With the new Navigraph + Flightradar24 partnership bringing real-world live traffic to the ecosystem, could we potentially get an option for 24-hour historical live traffic as well?

I regularly like to fly real scheduled airline flights in the simulator, using the actual flight number, route and aircraft. However, I rarely have the opportunity to fly at exactly the same time as the real-world flight. This means that, whilst live traffic is great when the simulator time matches real time, it doesn’t really help when recreating a flight from earlier in the day.

MSFS already has a 24-hour historical live weather feature, and I think something similar for traffic would be incredibly powerful.

For example, if at 19:00 UTC I wanted to recreate a BA flight that operated at 10:00 UTC, I could:

  • Set the simulator time to 10:00 UTC
  • Load the real-world traffic from 10:00 UTC
  • Have surrounding aircraft positioned according to where they actually were at that time
  • Use that traffic through BeyondATC

This would essentially allow us to recreate the real-world traffic around a flight, regardless of when we actually have time to fly it.

I appreciate there may be Flightradar24 data-retention and licensing considerations, but given the new partnership, I think this would be a fantastic feature to explore.

Would anyone else find this useful?

I’d love to see some sort of general integration between Navigraph Charts and Flightradar24, ie you can overlay IRL flight replay, show real time flights, etc. Flightradar Silver/Gold/Platinum members would get their additional member perks follow them into the Navigraph/Flightradar interface. Would be really interesting to see, and would probably encourage engagement in both Navigraph and Flightradar’s paid services.
